For sheer beauty and intimacy, it's hard to beat the historic Ford Amphitheatre for summer entertainment under the stars. Nestled in the Hollywood Hills, the open-air amphitheatre is relatively intimate at 1,196 seats; no patron is more than 96 feet away from the stage.
The Ford is in the final stages of a complete renovation designed to enhance the guest and performer experiences. Improvements include new lighting and sound equipment, a new two-level wood stage, new artist green room and dressing rooms, a new loading dock, a new sound wall to block noise from the 101 Freeway, a new concessions building with full kitchen, and a new 150-seat picnic terrace.
The entryway from the Box Office features a gradual climb with winding paths with gathering places where patrons can dine and mingle before the show.
Owned by the County of Los Angeles and located in a 32-acre County regional park, the Ford Theatres are run through a partnership between the County of Los Angeles, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Ford Theatre Foundation.
Rental applications are not currently being accepted. Please check back in February 2017, at which time available dates, pricing and the 2017 Summer Season rental application will be available.
