Support LA's Freshest

In July 2016, the John Anson Ford Theatres reopened for a summer season of music, dance, film, theatre and family events following nearly two years of renovations. Performances from forty different cultural communities and multiple artistic disciplines by more than 960 performers took place on the new stage, representing the cultural diversity and artistic excellence of the region. It was a very special season indeed. I am pleased to report that the Ford welcomed back over 32,000 Los Angeles County audiences to our newly renovated venue. And our reach extended well beyond our County borders with audience members from as far away as China, Italy and Sweden. Thanks to your support and commitment, we truly are a global venue!

Getting to know you

2016 Ford Theatres audiences

One of the best parts of my job as chair of the Ford Theatre Foundation is greeting so many of our guests, like you, who pass through the gates of our beloved amphitheatre. Learning about what brings you to the Ford not only gives me an opportunity to thank you for your patronage, but it also reinforces that we are presenting artists who are important to you.

What I learned from our conversations is that our work provides an important opportunity for our artists to grow professionally as performers and producers, while treating our patrons to meaningful cultural experiences inspired by the vast and diverse communities unique to Los Angeles County.

Your support makes it all possible!
Did you know that the Ford Theatres does not require upfront costs for the artists? The only expenses artists incur are based on their production requirements and these costs are significantly lower than at other venues. Additionally, the artists receive the majority of the box office revenues for their shows, as well as the benefits of inclusion in the Ford’s broader season marketing campaign, and access to marketing, publicity, production, fundraising, box office and guest services professionals. And that’s why your contribution is so important. It empowers everything we do.

Your investment is essential in helping us to carry on our mission of bringing people together for transformative arts experiences that inspire, empower and ignite cultural exchange. I invite you to be a part of the work we do. Please consider making a gift of $50, $100, $250, or whatever you can afford, to help us continue this important work. And with a gift of $500 or greater you’ll be able to reserve a table on the newly opened Zev Yaroslavsky Terrace throughout the season.

Naming a seat is another way you can support our work. As the holidays are upon us, naming a seat for a family member or friend is a wonderful way to honor your loved ones.

We are happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have. Please call Cynthia Villaseñor at 213-273-8321 or visit fordtheatres.org/support/donate to make your gift now. Thank you for your donation and patronage to the John Anson Ford Theatres. You are an integral part of our work and why we enjoy doing what we do. I look forward to seeing you in 2017!

With much gratitude,

David Ford
